522205

This week there have been two developments.

The first is in the title and will be recognised as a C&RT registration number. Achernar will be recorded on their database as 522205. We have registered this early so that the number can be painted on rather than attaching the aluminium plates to the boat.

The second is the picture below,

This is our Francis searchlight. It has been restored by Paul Westby and it looks rather splendid. I am not sure that even with frequent polishing we will be able to keep it quite as polished as Paul has managed.
These two items give us the feeling that we are slowly heading towards the end of the build which is just as well as the Crick show where Achernar will be on display is only a hundred days away.

Finally Oscar's training is continuing and he seems to be progressing well. This week we are going to begin recall training and may even try him off the lead if all goes well.

  1. Hi Phil
We got our Francis lamp for AmyJo from Paul. He does a great job restoring them. We'll be moored in Crick marina for the show so will definitely book a viewing of Achernar if we can. Hope to see you then.
    regards
    Steve

    1. Hi Steve
No problem with the viewing I think Steve Hudson does not require a booking. I shall say hello if we spot you there

    2. Dear Achernar

Your Francis Lamp looks great, Steve collected our lamp from Paul Westby at the same time as yours for our Narrowboat Brigand that is moored next to Achernar at the moment and will be accompanying you to Crick. We look forwards to meeting you at the boat show.

    3. Hi Kenton
Paul did say there was another Hudson owner who had ordered a lamp. I shall look forward to seeing Brigand at the show.

    2. It went into the paint shed last week. We are are going to be graphite grey with cream, red and black. It will also have a harlequin stripe from the pigeon box back to the rear hatch. If you have seen the boats Hudson and Stanley it will be similar.
